Who we are.
Francis General Contracting, LLC is a family owned and operated business with over 30 years of experience in the field. Along with our terrific subcontractors and independent contractors, we tackle all phases of residential construction and remodeling.
Joseph and Lynne joined forces to start FGC in late winter 2024, combining years of knowledge, practical experience, and leadership with sheer determination, a life-long interest in the trades, and a love of all things that can be organized into a chart!
When not working, Joseph and Lynne can be found driving around Maine and New Hampshire looking for their new favorite diner and interesting antique finds!

Who is Francis?
Our company is named in honor of Gary Francis Bennett, my (Lynne's) bonus Dad. He always said, "Family first," but his family extended to all who he loved. Whether we were building elegant fish ponds in fancy backyards, spreading yards and yards of mulch, or plowing snow at 2 am, his firmness, kindness, and resiliency taught me many of the skills I use every day, both at FGC and at home with my four boys. My first try at mudding and taping was when we built our own house...in 1983! His values - family, respect, and hard work - are our values. And although we lost him in August of 2022, I know he would be so proud of what we have accomplished. He would still be laughing at watching his eldest (but smallest) daughter struggle to make the big step up into the truck and overjoyed to see his eldest grandson joining the ranks of family and friends in the contracting business.
